Do you have a few spare hours a week to lend a hand to your community?
Help out at Haslewey Community Centre!
Haslewey relies on its dedicated army of volunteers to help run the centre.
We need Volunteers in the following roles:
We have reception volunteers who sit on our reception desk and act as the face of Haslewey. We need volunteers to answer the telephone, book appointments, greet customers and generally make the centre users feel welcome.
The Wey Terrace & Cafe is a fun and vibrant community cafe with a warm welcome for all. Open from 9am to 3pm, Mondays to Fridays, it is a place for people of all ages and walks of life.
We need friendly and practical volunteers with a good sense of humour to help in the many different roles within the team - from setting up and clearing down the dining room, taking meal orders and making drinks behind the cafe counter, to waiting on tables or helping in the kitchen and, of course, the washing up too!
We provide full training and are happy to have volunteers on a regular or occasional cover basis for the different days and time slots available - whatever suits you - and in addition we also offer our volunteers a 10% discount at the cafe valid everyday when you show your volunteer ID badge - a gesture of thanks for all the help our volunteers donate to the centre.
If you wanted to go out to visit people in their homes you could help vulnerable people in Haslemere, Grayshott, Grayswood, Witley and Milford by delivering their Community Meals. Whether you have just 1 hour a week or can help several times a week our Community Meals Volunteers are such an important part of our service: for our clients who depend on this service, a quick chat, a warm hello and seeing a friendly face can make all the difference.
Haslewey has a fantastic fundraising committee who organise and run events raising funds for Haslewey. We need volunteers to assist the fundraising committee at events as waiters, bar staff, stewards, ticket sellers and many additional roles.
Haslewey is a building for the benefit of the community. As a building it needs constant maintenance. Doors, windows, fencing and many other areas need maintaing. If you have any plumbing, electrics, carpentry or other practical experience, please get in touch.
